This was my first turbo car. I had a previous 87 Starion tan in color model ESI-R. The vehicle came black leather interior. I had the engine block bored 20 over with racing pistons & I ran baker cams. The internal engine balancers were also eliminated. I ran an HKS exhaust & HKS intake cone from a 1G 4G63 Eclipse/Talon. IMO the car was way ahead of its time with steering wheel radio controls & soft touch heating/air conditioning & radio controls with automatic seatbelts. The Starion even came stock with a front mount intercooler which in 88 & 89 was upgraded to a larger core. Starions/Conquest were notorious for cracked heads between the valve stem walls. Most owners will have it reinforced or rewelded to be stronger. The Starion/Conquest was one of the highest output 4 with its 2.6 liter engine which Mitsubishi also used in its trucks. Saddly it was discontinued after 89 then leading to the new flagship for Mitsubishi the 3000GT Twin Turbo VR4.
